Ice hockey: Recaps from January 28


Friday’s games

New Rochelle 4, Cortlandt 3 (OT)

The Huguenots, trailing 3-0, scored three times in the third period, Ryan Topol’s goal tying the score at 3 with 3:30 left in regulation, before Dan Ostrager netted the game-winner with 1:29 left in overtime.

Tyler Hembury scored twice for New Rochelle within 40 seconds early in the third period.

Andrew Tetro had two assists and Jason DeSalvo, Ethan Richmond and Ostrager each had one assist.

Cortlandt went up 3 -0 behind two goals by Jack Jimenez and a goal by Frank Kowal.

Joe Riggio and Colin Cody each had and assist.

Rebel goalie Aaron Hathaway had 35 saves

New Rochelle keeper Sam Glusker stopped 30 shots.

Horace Greeley 6, Scarsdale 5

Horace Greeley scored the game’s last three goals, including the game-tying and game-winning scores in the last minute of regulation.

Ellis Adams tied the game with 50 seconds remaining and Gabe Adams won it with just nine seconds left.

Ellis Adams, who finished with a hat trick, also scored Greeley’s other third-period goal.

Chris Marlatt and Mark Sallay also scored for the Quakers.

Ilan Laurence had two assists and Jacob Schlatner, Philip Childs and Gabe Adams each had one assist.

Brian Nicholas had three goals for Scarsdale and Ian Silberstein and Sam Horner also scored.

Jack Greco and Silbertstein both had two assists and Nicky Mantzouris, Freddy Kushnick and Kyle Kahan each had one assist.

Greeley goalie Ben Madden had 43 saves.

Max Siegel had 15 saves and Tyler Pierro had two saves for Scarsdale.

Girls league

Morristown Beard 6, Rockland 0

Lilli Warnock netted a hat trick and Jesse Sperling had a goal and two assists for the New Jersey-based school.

Carly Greer and Logan Sutera also scored

Julie Jasaitis had two assists and Kaitlin Kane, Carly Greer and Sutera each had one assist.

Rockies goalie Marina Capone, who kept Morristown Beard off the scoreboard in the third period, finished with 31 saves.

Gracie Meyers had nine saves for the Crimson.
